Maggie Polk

Maggie LaVerne Polk, age 103, a resident of Leesburg, MS passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, July 29, 2021. We will ask that everyone in attendance follow social distancing guidelines. There will be a private service at 1:30 pm Saturday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS for family and close friends.

Mrs. Polk was born in Leesburg, MS on November 9, 1917 to Virgil Newton Munn and Florence Elizabeth Stevenson Munn. She was married to Bryan Wilson Polk. Mrs. Polk worked as a bookkeeper for many years before retiring. She was a member of Leesburg Baptist Church and First Baptist Church in Richland, MS. She always enjoyed cooking, working in her garden and spending time with family and friends. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Mrs. Polk was preceded in death by her husband, Bryan Wilson Polk; her sons, Sammy and Keith Polk; parents, Virgil Newton Munn and Florence Elizabeth Stevenson Munn; her siblings, Ruth Measels, V.W. Munn, Christine Thompson and Harvey C. Munn.

Mrs. Polk is survived by her children, Rudy (Pat) Polk, Ted (Debra) Polk, Roger (Linda) Polk, Mark (Patty) Polk and Elizabeth Polk; sister, Betty Wade; 14 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
