Maggie Frances Nutt Pigg, 94, passed away Sun. Feb. 8, 2015 at her home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held on Wed. Feb. 11, 2015 from 12:30pm-1:45pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 2pm on Wed. Feb. 11, 2015 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS with burial to follow in the Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.
Mrs. Pigg was born on Feb. 1, 1921 in Beach, MS and has been a longtime resident of Hinds and Rankin Counties. She was a member of the Forest Hill United Methodist Church in Jackson, MS. Mrs. Pigg enjoyed sewing , cooking, camping and was also a member and secretary of the Metro Rambling Sam’s Camping Club. Mrs. Pigg also enjoyed gardening, working with flowers and genealogy. Mrs. Pigg was loved and cherished by her children and enjoyed being “Gram” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Brown (Glen); son, Randy Nutt (Debbie); sister, Jean Turbville; 4 grandchildren, Alison Reed (Jason), Lauren Taylor (Shaun), Michael Nutt (Ellie) and Elizabeth Nutt; 5 great grandchildren, Anna Grace Reed, Kara Reed, Carson Taylor, Jack Carter Taylor and Otis Morris Nutt; former daughter-in-law, Marie Nutt and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Pigg is preceded in death by her husband, Raylon P. Pigg; parents, Frank and Minnie Wallace Duncan; sister, Marie Kersh and 5 brothers, Blumie, Curtis, O.T., Foch and Raymond Duncan.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to Mrs. Pigg’s care givers, Mary Walker, Maxine Robinson, Teletha Burks and Jennifer Love for their wonderful care.
