Mahlon C. Smith, Jr. age 46, died in Meridian, MS. Saturday November 26, 2011.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Tuesday November 29, 2011 from the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Hickory with interment in the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5pm to 8pm Monday November 28, 2011 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest. Rev. Thomas Laird and Rev. Paul Smith will officiate the services.
Mahlon was born on November 1, 1965 in Scott County. He finished high school and then completed a degree in Theology. He was employed by Southern Cast Products of Marion, MS for the past 26 years. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Hickory. Mahlon loved the outdoors, as he was a lover of nature and his walk with God was very dear to his heart. He was an active runner, and had made many friends in this much loved activity. Mahlon will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mahlon C. Smith,Sr. and Mae Harris Smith.
Mahlon is survived by four brothers, William Poole (Emily) of El Paso, TX, Perry Poole (Michelle) of Louisville, MS. David Poole (Michelle) of Forest, MS and Jerry Poole (Wendy) of Walnut Grove, MS. and his mother, Ann Smith of Forest. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Steve Pugh, Budgie Acord, Joey Acord and Mike Acord, Kenny Addy and JR Addy.
