Malcolm Lamar Martin, age 79, of Brandon, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Brandon Court Nursing and Rehab.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, January 7, 2019 at Brandon Baptist Church with visitation starting at 9:00am until service time. Graveside service will follow at 2:30pm at the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, MS.
Malcolm was born in Flora, MS to the late Christopher Earl Martin and Addie Lucille Dumas Martin on July 11, 1939. He was a member of Brandon Baptist Church, worked for AT&T as a Fiberoptic Technician, and was a U.S. Army Veteran.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ila Ruth Davis Martin; two siblings, Bernell Wilkinson and Maxwell Martin.
He is survived by his daughter, Wendi Joyner (Steve) of Brandon; four siblings, Elyse Greer of Brandon, Barbara Hickman of Gulf Breeze, FL, Patricia Sills of Warner Robins, Ga, and Rex Martin (Fran) of Pearl, MS; three grandchildren, Emilie Powers, Mary Clark Joyner, and Brian Joyner; other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Brandon Baptist Church Building Fund.
