Mississippi native, Mamie Catherine (Glaze) Dry, 93, a resident of Sanctuary at Holy Cross, South Bend, IN., passed at 2:05 A.M. Thursday, Sep.1, 2011.
Mamie was born in Lena, Mississippi, the second of seven children to Charlie E.Glaze and Emma Virginia (Bustin) Glaze.
On October 5, 1934 in Hillsboro, Mississippi she married Willie Raymond Dry. They moved to South Bend, Indiana in 1946 and retired to Fairhope, Alabama in 1979. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years and daughters Shirley Ann Dry and Mamie Jean Harris.
Mamie is survived by one daughter Brenda Kizer and husband James of South Bend, IN. Four Grandchildren Matt Harris and Nicki of Columbiana, AL, Jennifer Cook and Scott of Dadeville, AL, Colleen Martindale and husband David of Milton, FL., Pam Lane and husband Matthew of North Liberty, IN. Eight Great Grandchildren, Aaron Martindale, Kendra, Kellie, and Garrett Lane, Kristen and Francie Cook, Elizabeth Harris, Zachery Childress, and one Great Great Grandchild. Mamie is also survived by one sister, Nadine Noel of Hillsboro, MS and Son-in-law Phil Harris of Spanish Fort, AL. She was a member of the Fairhope, AL United Methodist Church.
Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Forest, Mississippi is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Saturday, September 10th from 9:00 to 10:45 A.M. followed by an 11:00 A.M. service. Burial will follow at Harperville Memorial Park, Harperville Mississippi. Rev. Paul McDonald officiated the services.
Pallbearers will be Michael Noel, Charlie Noel, Henry Glaze, Tom Glaze Jr. David Martindale and Matt Lane.
