Marcia Smith

Marcia Lynn Smith, age 68, a resident of Brandon, MS passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Monday, December 27, 2021, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith was born December 13, 1953, in Hattiesburg, MS to Melvin Turner and Bernice McLemore Hartfield. She was married to Herman Patrick Smith. Mrs. Smith worked as a property manager for many years before retiring. She was a member of Crossgates Baptist Church in Brandon, MS. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mom, and nana to her family. She always gave a smile and hug to everyone around her. She loved her family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Turner and Bernice McLemore Hartfield; brother, Pem McLemore; and grandmother, Beulah McLemore.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband of 50 years, Herman Patrick Smith; daughters, Barbara Lynn Smith (Kabet) McNeely and Theresa Michelle Smith (Derek) Gilmer; sister, Mary Lou Clark; brothers, Norris (Cathy) Forde, Smokey (Glenda) Hartfield, and Rocky (Kim) Hartfield; grandchildren, Logan, Kaitlyn, Tristan, and Brendan; great grandchildren, Braxton, Riley, Swayzie, Brody, Layla, Marleigh, and Lanie; sister-in-law, Joyce Thronson; brother-in-law, Larry (Linda) Smith; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
