Margaret Janis DeWitt, 85, passed away Sun. April 12, 2015 at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Tues. April 14, 2015 from 12:30pm-1:45pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 2pm Tues. April 14, 2015 in the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the First Baptist Church of Fannin Cemetery in Fannin, MS.

Mrs. DeWitt was born in Grenada, MS, had lived in Fannin, MS for 50 years, and was a resident of Highland Home in Ridgeland, MS where she started a bible study, a choir, and enjoyed her friends, and the staff. Mrs. DeWitt was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Jackson, MS where she was a featured soloist. Later, she was a member of Fannin Baptist and Fannin Methodist Churches in Fannin, MS where she led worship. In her later years, she was also a member of Pinelake Church in Brandon, MS where she enjoyed Mary Lou Collum’s Sunday School Class.

Mrs. DeWitt is survived by her four daughters, Joyce Gunter, Dianne Aycock and her husband Kenny, Lisa DeWitt and Susan Burrell and her husband Joey; three grandchildren, Alyssa Wilson and her husband Joseph, and Lonnie and Walker Burrell; her niece, Alice Branch; two nephews, David Caston and Emery DeWitt and several great nieces and great nephews. Mrs. DeWitt is preceded in death by her husband, Earl DeWitt; sister, Carol Caston and two brothers, Bob and Jeff Stephens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pinelake Missions Fund at 6071 Hwy. 25 Brandon, MS 39047.
