Margaret Lee Rhodes Bounds

Margaret Lee Rhodes Bounds passed into the loving arms of Jesus Thursday, July 28, 2016. She was born November 17, 1924 to Marvin L. and Iona Walton Rhodes in Neshoba County, MS. She graduated from Linwood High School in Linwood, MS where she was a star basketball player. Margaret eloped and married her high school sweetheart, William Rayford Bounds, a World War II Veteran. They lived in Philadelphia, MS until moving to Jackson MS in 1949.
Margaret was a faithful and dedicated member of Daniel Memorial Baptist Church where she served endlessly in many areas. She was a loving mother and cared deeply for, and was devoted to her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, W. R. Bounds; her parents; her sister, Millie Munn; and her brother, Buddy Rhodes.
Survivors include her sons, Larry Bounds and wife, Gwynn and Jerry Bounds and wife, Denise all of Brandon, MS; a daughter, Elaine Bounds Flanagan and husband, David of Baton Rouge, LA; a sister, Joan Rhodes Belk and husband, B.J. of Byram, MS; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will begin Monday, August 1, 2016 from 5 until 8 pm and again Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 10 am until the 11 am Chapel Service at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.
