Margery Louise Rand Buckner was born February 27, 1940 in Winona, Minnesota, and died Thursday, May 27, 2010 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi at the age of 70. Services were Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon.
Mrs. Buckner received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Winona State Teachers’ College. She taught school near Racine, Wisconsin until 1966, at which time she moved to Fort Worth, Texas to attend Southwestern Theological Seminary.
In 1967 Margery married Robert Gerald (Bob) Buckner. They served churches in Texas, Oklahoma and Mississippi. More recently Mrs. Buckner tutored adults who were seeking their G.E.D. She was a gifted artist. She always served as a Bible teacher in her church. More than anything else she loved her role as wife and mother.
Mrs. Buckner is survived by her husband, Bob Buckner of Hattiesburg. Two sons, Phil Buckner of Houston, Texas, and Tim Buckner of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; one brother, Jim Rand of Chicago, Illinois, and four grandchildren, Liam, Jonas, Jack and Lily Buckner.
