Mrs. Cleo Toney, age 85, a resident of Morton passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. Visitation was held 4-9pm Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral Services were held 2pm Friday, January 21, 2011 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in the Cooperville Baptist Cemetery. Rev. Frank Edmondson officiated. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Cleo was a native of Cooperville MS. She loved to be outdoors working in her yard and flowers. Cleo loved to play cards and dominos and was just an all around fun person to be around. Her family stated that her favorite thing to do was to go fishing. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Iverson Burnham and Linnie Alma Gray Burnham; daughter, Mae Thornton; 4 sisters, Mary Annice Chester, Minnie Ella Dew, Ruby Nell Goodson and Alma Louise Cobb; 5 brothers, William Walter Burnham, John “Jay” Henry Burnham, Oscar Lee Burnham, Ray Otis Burnham and Frederick Lavelle “Bo” Burnham.
She is survived by her daughter, Margie Nell Loftis (Esley) of Mendenhall; son-in-law, Mark Thornton of Cooperville; sister, Myrtis Christine Jones of TN, spouse, Willie Toney of Morton; 3 grandchildren, Patricia K. Thornton, Tina Harrell (Mark) and Jeff Thornton (Michelle); 5 great grandchildren, Courtney Harrell, Brady Bridges, Braxton Bridges, Trinity Thornton and Heather Thornton and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Kendall Kennedy, Earnie Davis, John David Jones, Taylor Freeman Jr., Kevin Gainey and Chris Coker. Honorary Pallbearers were Todd Burnham, Ed Dew, Esley Loftis, Mark Thornton and Mark Harrell.
