She was born in Kastel, Germany on May 16, 1930 to Franz Joseph and Maria Jertz Kaiser. Margot came to the United States in 1948 as a war bride and became a naturalized citizen in 1952.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda James Honea (Mack) and Betty James; 4 grandchildren, Kate Honea Free (Shane), T.J. Stahl (Ashley), Patricia Honea Stewart (Jay) and Margo Stahl; 4 great grandchildren, Tyler Stahl, Avery Stahl, Vivian Stewart and Holland Stewart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence H. James.
