Marguerite was born in Rushville, IL on September 9th, 1920 to J. Herman Ryan and Esther Naught Ryan. Her childhood years were filled helping her dad work the family dairy farm with her brother Bernard. Marguerite graduated from Rushville High School and Browns Business College. She married Richard Ward Anderson (Dick) on January 3rd, 1942. They had two children: son James Michael Anderson (Jim), wife Marynell and daughter Marilyn Anderson Odom, husband Bud. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Her brother Bernard Ryan, wife Verna (both deceased) had one daughter Judy Quillen, husband Denny (deceased). Judy has been a dedicated niece calling her Aunt Marguerite every Sunday night for their weekly chats. Memaw, as all of her grandchildren called her, inspired them all to follow her beloved Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals baseball teams. She and Dick traveled home each summer and made stops in St. Louis to see her Cardinals play. She was an avid follower of Mississippi State Bulldog sports. Memaw taught all her children that the most important part of the morning newspaper was the box scores and this was done before reading headlines. Her chocolate chips cookies and homemade noodles brought smiles of joy to her family during the holidays. She always was up for a canasta game or bingo with her many friends throughout her life. She was known to especially enjoy winning at Spite and Malice.
A special thanks for the many years of kindness and caring provided by Doctor John Studdard.
The family wants to thank the staff at Brookdale Brandon for their help and assistance and the wonderful people at Hospice Ministries of Ridgeland that were so gracious and caring to our Memaw during her stay.
