Maria Estella Chambers, 63, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be Sunday from 3pm until 6pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. A memorial service will be held 10:00am Monday, February 25, 2013, at First Freewill Baptist Church in Pearl, MS.
Maria was born in Ojojona, Honduras on April 19, 1949, to Jose Martinez and Maria Espinoza de veintidos. She met and married her late husband, Henry Tim Chambers, while he was in the Peace Corps in Honduras. She was a homemaker, member of the UMW, an avid horticulturist and an organ and blood donor.
Survivors include her daughter, V. Lenora Houston (John) of Tupelo, MS; sons, Jose Ramon Chambers (Michelle) of Brandon, MS, William H. Chambers (Dawn) of Tucson, AZ and Luis A. Chambers of Corning, NY; her companion, Noberto Hernandez; 8 grandchildren, Brent, Timothy, Azia, Joshua, Kyle, Ashlin, Cameron Chambers and Jackson Allen; 4 great Grandchildren and well as many other family members in Honduras.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lee County Baptist Association, C/O Honduras Mission Work, P.O. Box 2640, Tupelo, MS 38803.
