Marion Kennedy

Marion Kerr Kennedy, 95, went to be with the Lord on Fri. Feb. 16, 2018 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be held from 9:30am-11am on Tues. Feb. 20, 2018 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. A private graveside service will be held at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Greenwood, MS with Rev. Gayden Harrell officiating. Pallbearers will be Bobby Gasaway, Robert May, Lon McLaurin and Freddie Harrell.

Marion was a charter member of Brandon Baptist Church where she was a faithful member of the Margaret Ross Sunday School Class and she enjoyed fellowship with Young At Heart. She was a member of the Official Women’s Club of Mississippi and a former member of the Brandon Garden Club. In previous years, she enjoyed traveling with her dear friends, Jane Gayden and Mary Alice Stubblefield. Marion attended the University for Women in Columbus, MS.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll H. Kennedy; her parents, Therrell and Mollie Kerr; brothers, J.T. Kerr, Eugene Kerr and Frank Kerr and her sisters, Mary Nell Kerr, Billie Bonn Bracken, Mildred Hester and Esther Gunn.

She is survived by her son, Thomas C. Kennedy (Phyllis); grandchildren, Amber Carol Kennedy Thompson (Mitch), Marion Haley Kennedy Guest (Michael) and four great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Mrs. Barbara Magee for her love, care and compassion for the past five years.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Brandon Baptist Church Children’s Building Fund.
