Marion Ruth (Broome) Losset of Richland, Mississippi passed away on January 11, 2017. She was known to her loving family and friends as "Meon". Visitation will be held on Sat. Jan. 14, 2017 from 9:30am-10:45am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Richland, MS. Funeral Services are 11am Sat. Jan. 14, 2017 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Richland, MS with burial to follow in the Florence Cemetery.
Marion was preceded by her father Isaac Jay Broome, her mother Ruth (Thomas) Broome, and her husband Joseph Henry Losset who passed away January 8, 1986. Marion is survived by her two sons and their families: Mark and Ann Losset of Gautier, Mississippi who have three children and 5 grandchildren; Keith and Leigh Losset of Huntsville, Alabama who have one child and three grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Catherine (Broome) Clark also of Richland, Mississippi.
Marion was born on October 19, 1927 on Cleary Road when the community was known as "Plain" and never lived more than a mile from her birthplace. She was proud to become a resident of the City of Richland when the city limits were extended to include her home. Marion was a member of Richland Baptist Church and often recalled her childhood experience riding horses to church with her Papaw Thomas. Marion and her sister Catherine Clark were well known throughout the community and were regular customers at Mama's Kitchen, which was their favorite place to eat out. Marion was a member of the Best Friends Forever Lunch Club, the Friends of Richland Library, and was a loyal supporter of her Church and other local charities. She will be missed by family and friends.
