Marion Harvey Ponder, 78, a resident of Baytown, Texas, died Saturday, September 24, 2011. Mr. Ponder was born on May 24, 1933 in Johns, Mississippi. He attended Mississippi State University from which he graduated. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army where he served from 1953-1955. He worked with and retired from Texas Eastern Gas Pipeline Company. Marion Ponder was a member of Victory Baptist Church, Baytown, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lyda Jane and Elston Ponder, sister Sarah Ponder and two brothers, Russell Ponder and Wayne Ponder.
Marion Ponder is survived by two children, Marsha Marie Ponder Cravens and Marion Harvey Ponder, Jr. (wife-Heidi) and four grandchildren, Jakob, Amy, Jackie and Abby Ponder; his sister, Edna Stribling; two brothers, John Ponder and Mike Ponder; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery in Joe Town, Mississippi.
Marion was loved and will be missed by all of his family and friends.
