Marion Wise, 87, of Marietta, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, September 21, 2011, in Brandon, MS were he had lived with his daughter for the last five years. Visitation will be held Friday, September 23, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta, GA. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Mayes Ward-Dobbins.

Mr. Wise was born in Eufaula, AL on July 14, 1924. He proudly served his Country in WWII and was employed with Lockheed for 32 years, retiring in 1982. A member of Roswell Street Baptist Church since 1969, he enjoyed witnessing, teaching Sunday school, and singing in the church choir. His love of music and young people carried out into the community and Mr. Wise was named Band Parent of the Year in 1986 by the Sprayberry Band Boosters. While in Mississippi, he became active at the Wilmoth Senior Center and loved playing dominoes and visiting with his new found friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn, in 2006. Survivors include two sons, H. Len Arnold and wife Dell of Canton, GA, Marion “Chip” Wise, Jr. and wife Melanie of Moody, AL; two daughters, Faye Davis and husband John of Cartersville, GA, Gail Toal and husband Ronald of Brandon, MS, eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
