Mr. Marion David Coleman, of Brandon formerly of Clarksdale, MS, age 72 passed away September 27, 2015 at the Brandon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brandon, MS. Funeral services were on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Union Baptist Church in Brandon, MS. Visitation was on Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 12:00 pm until 1:45 pm at the Union Baptist Church in Brandon, MS with burial to follow at the Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Officiating the services will be Rev. Alvin Doyle and Rev. Larry Russell.Mr. Coleman was a passionate Ole Miss Rebel fan and very astute in the statistical data of the players and coaches of the team. His family mentioned that you could ask him just about anything concerning the team and he would be able to give you the information. He also was an avid reader, especially sports books and magazines and he was a big Chicago Cubs fan too. He enjoyed spending time with his family and he was a beloved father and friend.Mr. Marion David Coleman was born October 31, 1942, to the parents of Rube Stevenson Coleman, Sr., and Leona "Miller" Coleman in Deeson, MS near Clarksdale.He is preceded in death by his parents Rube Stevenson and Leona "Miller" Coleman; his brother, Rube Stevenson Coleman, Jr.; and his sister Etoyle Maxey.Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife Peggie Carolyn Coleman of Brandon; daughters, Kelly Marie Riff (Marshall) of Ladson, SC and Donna Desert (David) of Pearl, MS; his sons, David Shane Coleman of Brandon, Christopher Kirk (Jodie) of Milwaukee, WI, Stephen McAdams (Sue) of Vernon, AL, and Dennis Massey (Diane) of Florence, MS; his sister, Jeannie Curtis (Don) of Rigby Island, WA; sister-in-law, Martha Coleman of Brandon; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.Pallbearers serving were Walter Winstead, Tommie Winstead, Dennis Massey, Stephen McAdams, Kenny Mitchell, and Sammy Neely.Ott and Lee Funeral Home, Inc. of Morton are entrusted with the care of handling these arrangements.
