On June 3, 2017, John Mark Hale was taken from us to soon.  He was born December 13, 1951 in Tupelo to Paul and Gladys McFerrin Hale. He graduated from Tupelo High School in 1969 and then attended Mississippi State University graduating in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.  After graduation he returned to Tupelo and opened his first audio store and started his retail career in the music and sound industry.  Over the years he owned and operated several different retail business.  He moved to Jackson in the late nineties and opened Lakeland Music in 2001.  He ran the business and did stage and sound jobs until he retired in September 2016. He was just beginning to enjoy his retirement when God had other plans for him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Weaver Hale, Sr.

He is survived by his wife of ten years Betty Gillentine Hale of Brandon; mother,  Gladys Hale of Tupelo; brother,  Paul W. Hale, Jr (Dot) of Oxford; Step-children Ashley Robbins (Brad) of New Albany; Erin Rickman (DJ) of Tuscaloosa, Al; and Will Ready of Hattiesburg, MS; Grandchildren Walker and Mitchell Robbins; Lillian, Landon and Louise Rickman due in October; nieces Laura Williamson (John) of Hoover, AL and children Anne-Hale, Harrison and Patrick;  Audra Maddox (Jeff) of Fairfax, VA and children Walt and Charlotte.

Services will be on Tuesday June 6, 2017 at Lakeland Presbyterian Church with visitation at 2 pm and service at 3 pm. On Wednesday June 7, 2017 at Lee Memorial Funeral Home in Verona with visitation at 2 pm and service at 3 pm with graveside service and interment in Lee Memorial Park.
