Marlene Gonzalez Echazabal

Marlene Gonzalez Echazabal, a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother, peacefully passed away on February 4, 2025, in Brandon, Mississippi, at the age of 66. Born on January 31, 1959, in Cuba, Marlene's early years were shaped by the vibrant culture and rich traditions of her homeland.

In 1980, Marlene made the courageous decision to move to the United States, where she would create a new life filled with love and family. She married her beloved husband, Pedro Echazabal, in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Together, they embarked on a new adventure, relocating to Mississippi in 1994, where they continued to nurture their family and community.

Marlene's devotion to her family was unwavering. She is survived by her husband, Pedro; their daughter, Eylene Echazabal Parrish, and her husband Jason; their son, Alexander Echazabal, their daughter, Helen Marie Echazabal Rettger, and her husband Pat,  and their two beloved grandchildren. as well as a multitude of cousins residing in Cuba, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Israel Gonzales and Consuelo Mayor Gonzales, whose legacy of love and resilience she carried throughout her life.

Marlene Gonzalez Echazabal will be remembered for her warm spirit, nurturing nature, and the indelible mark she left on the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will forever be treasured by her family and friends, who will carry her love with them always.
