Funeral services for Mr. Marshall T. Gunn will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 12, 2019 from the Ott & Lee Chapel with Rev. Larry Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in the Piketon Community under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 am – 10:45 am at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
Music will be provided by Mrs. Amanda Bankston.
Marshall Talbert Gunn was born in Scott County on January 27, 1931 and passed away Monday, December 9, 2019 at S.E. Lackey Memorial Hospital at the age of 88.
Mr. Gunn was a longtime employee of Scott County, where served as a foreman. He was member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and will be remembered for his enjoyment of farming, tending to his cattle and gardening.
He was preceded in death his wife of 64 years: Mrs. Marzelle “Marty” Gunn; one son-in-law: Andy Boyte; his parents: Will Lee and Eva Bell Sanders Gunn; four sisters: Neely Onalene Weems, Thelma Wilkerson, Rexa Walters and Ima Jean Hollingsworth and two brothers: Houston Lee Gunn and Jimmy Roger Gunn, Sr.
Survivors include his four daughters: Eva Gunn Allen of Decatur; Sherry (Ricky) Waltman of Lake; Marsha Boyte of Forest and Melissa Gunn of Pearl; two sons: David (Elizabeth) Gunn and Bruce Gunn, both of Forest; one sister: Mrs. Floy Wall of Forest; ten grandchildren: Christopher Stewart, Amy Elizabeth Fortin, Lauren Amanda Bankston, Caleb Jonathan Scharer, Stacey Mitchell, Brian Michael Waltman, Eric Gunn, Jordan Gunn, Laura Lang, and Kyle Andrew Boyte; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Brian Waltman, Eric Gunn, Jordan Gunn, Caleb Scharer, Chris Bankston and Steve Wilbourne.
In liue of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pleasant Ridge Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 395, Forest, MS 39074.
