Martha Allen

Martha Elizabeth Allen, age 73, a resident of Brandon, MS passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. A graveside service was held at 2:00 pm Friday, September 11, 2020 at Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS. Visitation was held from 4-6 pm Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Mrs. Allen’s granddaughter, Rev. Jolanda Rushton will officiate the services.

Mrs. Allen was born December 20, 1946 to Rufus Bates and Oddia Skinner Bates in Carson, MS. She was an inspector with General Motors in the Automotive Industry with over 31 years of service before retiring. She will be remembered as having a bigger that life personality. She loved spending time with family and friends. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Jimmy Dunaway; grandson, Jonathan May and her son-in-law, Kenneth Marchman.

Mrs. Allen is survived by her children, Jessie Marchman, Albert Dunaway and Lisa Dunaway; sisters, Betty Brown and Patsy Darnell Cates; brother, Tommy (Janice) Bates; 7 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
