Martha Wolverton Applewhite, 87, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS.  Funeral services are 1:30pm Saturday, August 7, 2021, in the chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.  Visitation will begin at 11:30am until 1:15pm at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS.

Mrs. Applewhite was born in Neshoba County on November 1, 1933, to her late parents, Walter D. and Clyde B. Wolverton. She retired from Unifirst Bank as a Loan Officer after many years of service.

Martha was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Jackson.  She had a passion for working in her yard and she loved cooking for her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Eric Lamar (Buddy) Applewhite Jr. and her son Eric Lamar Applewhite lll.

Survivors include her sons, Mike Applewhite and Tim (Janet) Applewhite; daughter-in-law, Cindy Applewhite; brother, Walter (Linda) Wolverton; sister, Jean Evans; and 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Jackson or a charity of your choice.
