Martha Bryan

Martha J. Bryan, 65, a lifelong resident of Scott Co. died Thursday, August 22, 2013 at the MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton with burial in the Independence UMC Cemetery. Visitation was held Friday, August 23, 2013 at the funeral home. Rev. Jerry Holmes and Rev. Brian Dickens officiated the service. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bryan was a lifelong resident of Scott Co. She was the daughter of Hilton and Dollie Richardson Lingle. She was married to Andrew Bryan. Mrs. Bryan worked at Scott Regional Hospital for many years and was known as “Grand Martha” to many she worked with. She was a care giver to not only her patients but to her family. She loved her family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

Mrs. Bryan was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Bryan; parents, Hilton and Dollie Richardson Lingle; sisters, Darrie Denton, Louise Tyson and Sallie Caldwell; and brothers, Austin Lingle and Billy Lingle.

Mrs. Bryan is survived by her children, Bobbie (Greg) Dickens of Forest and Donna McCollum of Pearl; brother, Dwight (Jeri) Lingle of Morton; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
