Martha Burnham

Martha Ansley Burnham, age 84, a lifelong resident of the Harperville community, died Monday, August 22, 2016, at Lackey Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Saturday, August 27, 2016, from the Harperville Baptist Church with interment in the Harperville Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5pm-8pm Friday, August 26, 2017, at the Harperville Baptist Church. Rev. Bobbie McKay and Rev. Don Wilson will officiate. Music will be provided by Irene Martin.
Mrs. Burnham was born in Scott County on Tuesday, May 10, 1932 to her parents Otha Ansley and Omega Harrell Ansley. She was a faithful member of Harperville Baptist Church. She met and married her husband of 59 years, John R. Burnham, Jr. She was employed for many years at the Paul Gray Tax Service in Forest. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings; W.O. “Boots” Ansley, L.D. “Scubb” Ansley and Joe Ansley. She was also preceded in death by an infant son; John Michael Burnham, a son-in-law; Danny Barnes and most recently by her husband.
Survivors include 3 daughters; Belinda B. Barnes of Mendenhall, MS, Kathy Lee (David) of Forest and Anne Burnham Steptoe also of Forest. Mrs. Burnham also leaves behind 6 grandchildren; Joni Tillman (Jason), Jacob Lee (Jessica Erin), Scott Barnes, Sains Steptoe, Connor Steptoe, Logan Steptoe and 6 great-grandchildren; Reese, Gage, Sam, Cali, Rainey and Gabby. She will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews, a host of friends.
Pallbearers are Jacob Lee, Scott Barnes, Connor Steptoe, Logan Steptoe, Don McDaniel and Ronnie Mathis. Honorary pallbearer is Sains Steptoe.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that any memorial be made to the Harperville Baptist Church Renovation Fund P.O. Box 35 Harperville, MS 39080.
