VISITATION: 4-7 PM TUESDAY AND 11 AM WEDNESDAY UNTIL 1:30 PM AT OTT AND LEE IN MORTON



Martha K. Gordon, 97, a resident of Morton died Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm Wednesday at Morton United Methodist Church with burial in the Morton Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held 4-7 pm today and 12-1:30 pm Wednesday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Rev. Randy Rigney and Rev. Gary Glazier will officiate the services. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton will be in charge of the arrangements.



Mrs. Gordon was a native of Simpson Co. She was the daughter of Dr. Albert and Ola Kennedy. She was married to Dr. Alex Gordon, Jr. She served the Scott Co. Schools 25 years as a teacher. Mrs. Gordon had a love for reading and teaching Sunday School. She enjoyed music and love to play the piano and organ.
Mrs. Gordon loved her family and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ola Kennedy; husband, Dr. Alex Gordon, Jr.; son, Clifford Gordon; brothers, Heber Kennedy and Allen Kennedy and sister, Zelma Price.

Mrs. Gordon is survived by her children, Alex Gordon of Sun City, AZ and Zelma (Masa) Yamada of Morton; grandchildren, Shartel Alexa Gordon, Simon Masa Yamada and Mattai Alex Yamada; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Serving as pallbearers were Michael Frazier, David French, Jimmy Farris, Scott Jones, Tobby Taylor, Gordy Herring and Scotty Taylor.
