Marvin Fortune

Marvin Morris Fortune, 72, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at Merit Health Rankin in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be 5-7pm on Thursday, December 10, 2015, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 11am Friday in the chapel of the funeral home with visitation starting at 10am. Interment will follow in Andrew Chapel Cemetery in Brandon, MS.

Mr. Fortune was born May 25, 1943 in Brandon to Morris C. and Olivia Smith Fortune. He graduated from Brandon High School in 1961 and retired from the US Postal Service.

Survivors include his wife, Jennie Barnett Fortune; sons, Clifton Fortune and Richard Fortune both of Brandon; his former wife and mother to his children, Martha Risher of Brandon; 2 brothers, Ronnie Fortune (Faye) of Brandon and Timothy Smith (Teresa) of Brandon; grandchildren, Justin Fortune, Hunter and Allie Barnett, Carter and Addie Denson, Haleigh, Natalie and Anna Fortenberry; God daughter, Caroline (Randy) Fortenberry; aunt, Dottie and John Miller of Chula Vista, CA; nephew, Scott Fortune and niece, Beth (Greg) Mabry.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
