Marvin Porter

Marvin Cleveland Porter, 73, a resident of Brandon, MS passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2019, in Pelahatchie, MS. Visitation will be held 5-8 pm Friday, August 23, 2019 and 12-2 pm Saturday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the funeral home with interment in Eureka Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Porter was a native of Ludlow, MS. He was the son of George Burse Porter and Annie Meadows Porter. He was a truck driver for many years before retiring. Mr. Porter loved his family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

Mr. Porter was preceded in death by his parents, George Burse Porter and Annie Meadows Porter; his biological father and step mother, Cleve Renfroe and Lela Renfroe; brothers, Roger Porter, Steven Porter, Jack Renfroe and Jr. Renfroe; sister, Marie Porter, Margaret Frith and Kathy Harrell.

Mr. Porter is survived by his children, Michael Porter, Teresa Thomas (Jerry), Stephanie McLain (Larry), Angel Smith (Wiley), MC Porter, Mack Porter (Jessica) and Masie Porter; 22 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, David Porter, Johnnie Renfroe, Lynn Renfroe; sisters, Barbara Porter Sutton, Wanda McLain, Libby Ivy, Peggy Sue Renfroe and Gloria Jean Conger; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
