Mary Chumley
March 26, 1924 — June 21, 2017
Mary Alice Chumley, 93, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at MS Care Center in Raleigh. Visitation is 12 noon Tuesday, June 26, 2017 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Forest. Services are 1 pm Tuesday at the funeral home with burial in Homewood Methodist Cemetery. Rev. Reggie Tatum will officiate.
Mrs. Chumley was a native of Crystal Springs and a resident of Forest since 2012 moving from Texas. She was a member of the Restored Branch of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Houston Texas.
Mrs. Chumley was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Chumley, James Archie Bruce and Laverne Hopkins; her parents, David Austin and Johnnie Jordan Byrd; four sisters, Willie Pauline, Thelma, Daisy, and Lillian and three brothers, Nephi, David, and Wilbert.
Survivors include her daughters, Judy Hopkins of Forest, Debbie Reid (Maylon) of Forest and Janice Harrell (Robert) of Summit; sister, Madeline Ellis of Buckner, MO; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are Mike Gibson, Irby Marler, Jim Ueltschey, Allen Lovett, John Herron, and Hal Patterson.
