Mary Helen was born Sept. 21, 1932, to Natie and Mattie Greer in Scott County, Miss. She was educated at Ringgold School and East Central Junior College.
She was a faithful member of Hillsboro Baptist Church where she was willing to do anything possible to serve God and help her fellow man. Granddaughter Sydni Crain gave her a plaque that hung on the wall of her home and summed up how the family felt about Helen: When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness. Proverbs 31:26

Helen stayed home with the children. Next, they moved to Grand Prairie, Texas, near Dallas, and Helen worked with Taylor Publishing.
When Charles became ill, they moved to his homeplace in Hillsboro. After Charles’ death, she became postmistress in Hillsboro and remained there until she retired in 2000. In her work at the post office, she met Paul Conn whom she later married. Paul preceded her in death.
