Mary Jean Carter Duckworth, age 84 of Pearl, surrounded by her family went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 22, 2022.
A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at 11:30 am at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon with Dr. Clarence Cooper officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:30 am. A Graveside Service will follow at 3:30 pm at Michie Cemetery in Vaiden, MS. Pallbearers will be Josh Carter, Adam Hamby, Christopher Bowen, Ethan Freeman, Richard Heslip, and Lon McLaurin.
Mary was born in Vaiden, MS to the late John O. McClellan and Lou Ella Hodges McClellan. She was a member of Brandon Baptist Church and a Homemaker.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Peggy Jean Bowen; and her first husband, Henry E. Carter.
Mary is survived by her husband, James K. Duckworth, Jr.; son, John (Sandra) Carter; grandchildren, Joshua Carter, Justin Whitehead, Stefanie Carter Hamby, Christopher Bowen, and Megan Bowen Freeman; great-grandchildren, Delaney Carter, Jacob Carter, Cash Carter, Savannah Hamby, Brance Whitehead, Cheyenne Culpepper, Ara Bella Bowen, Asher Bowen, and McKenna Freeman; a host of other relatives and friends.
