Mary was born April 20, 1948, in Marquette, MI, and graduated from Marquette Senior High School in 1966. She moved to Jackson, MS in 1967, where she met the love of her life Gary L. Easterling. They were married in Livingston, AL in 1968 and would go on to have three beautiful daughters.
Mary worked at Union National Life Insurance and retired in 2004. She helped Gary start up the 1st 172nd ANG’s Family Support Program in 2000. Mary was also a part of the Project Recovery Program in relief efforts following Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Mary was a faithful devout Christian woman who loved the Lord, her family, her church, and her community. Her Christian faith was an essential part of her life. She was a loyal member of Crossgates Baptist Church where she and Gary received Christ together as their Savior on September 28, 2003. Mary spent a great deal of her time over the past 15 years volunteering and leading the Crossgates Food Pantry Ministry and Distribution and Crossgates Prime Timer’s. She was also a part of Crossgates Hospital Visitor Ministry and was involved with multiple life groups within Crossgates Baptist Church.
Mary loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed being outside working in her flower beds to make them always beautiful. She also enjoyed going to the beach, traveling, and visiting new places. Anyone who knew her, knew she had such a big heart.
