Mary Green

February 5, 1933 — October 30, 2016

Mary Miles Green, age 83, a resident of Morton passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at MS. Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be held 5-8pm Monday at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and will be held 12:30pm to 1:30 pm Tuesday. Services will be held 2pm Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton with burial in Pulaski Cemetery. Bro. Earl Clark and Bro. Jason Westmoreland will officiate the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mary was born in Scott County on February 5, 1933. She loved to read, knit and play on her iPad. Mary loved shopping and never went anywhere without dressing up. She loved her family very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Green, who was formerly employed at MDOT; brother, Glen “Bip” Miles and parents, George William Miles and Florence Maudine Alford Miles.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl Green Nutt (Jimmy) of Pelahatchie and Michelle Green Beard (Bill) of Morton; sisters, Bobbie Sherrod of Ridgeland and Martha Nelson (Sharrell) of Jackson; 4 grandchildren, Bryan Nutt (Georganna), Brittany Nutt, Jenny Phillipson(Randy) and Shellie Squires (Chris); 5 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers were Duncan Beard, Bryan Nutt, Randy Phillipson, Gabe Nutt, Chris Squires, Billy Mack Miles, James Savell and Rue Nutt. Honorary pallearers were David French, Billy Lewis, Toney Hollingshead and Kenneth Slaughter.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pulaski Cemetery Fund, 3583 Blossom Hill Rd., Morton, MS 39117.
