Mary Harpe

Mary Marie Westbrook Harpe, 82, a resident of Pelahatchie died Saturday, September 01, 2012 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. Funeral services will be held 2 pm Monday, September 3, 2012 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton with burial in the Lodebar United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-5 pm Sunday and 1-2 pm Monday at the funeral home. Rev. John Vaughn, Rev. Vic Bowman and Rev. Paul Mayhan will officiate the services. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton will be in charge of arrangements.Mrs. Harpe was a native of Rankin Co. She was the daughter of George Calvin and Irene Huff Westbrook. She was married to Clarence Douglas Harpe. Mrs. Harpe worked many years as an inspector for Stanwood. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Pelahatchie. She loved to cook for her family and served many others helping at her church. She loved her family and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.Mrs. Harpe was preceded in death by her parents, George Clavin and Irene Huff Westbrook, husband, Clarence Douglas Harpe and her brother, J.C. Westbrook.

Mrs. Harpe is survived by her children, E.C. (Betty) Harpe and Kenneth (Vicki) Harpe; sisters, Ruby Pace and Betty Hayman; grandchildren, Spencer E. Harpe, Tracy Harpe (Clay) Branch and Jennifer (Paul) Mayhan; great grandchildren, Sarah Kathryn Branch and Charissa Mayhan; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.


Pallbearers will be Jim Huff, John Bush, Donald Westbrook, Paul Mayhan, Clay Branch and Steve Bush.
