Mary M. Hocutt, 73, a resident of Newton, formerly of Forest died Sunday April 29, 2012 at the Bedford Care Center following a lengthy illness.
Graveside services were conducted at 3:30pm Tuesday May 1, 2012 at Harperville Memorial Park. Dr. John McCarty officiated.
Mrs. Hocutt was born in Indianola, MS on September 1, 1938 to Charlie Smith and Mavis May Smith.
She later moved to the Scott County area, married Richard Hocutt. She was a member of the Harperville Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hocutt was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister Jessie Scarborough.
She is survived by four children; Ricky Hocutt, Thomas Hocutt and wife Cherri, Marvin Hocutt and Etheline Hocutt Smith, all of Forest. Other survivors include two brothers, Bud Smith and James Smith, both of Fresno, CA. Mrs. Hocutt is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 9 great grand-children.
Pallbearers were John Tyree, Richard Dolan, Larry Brantley, John Wood, Kyle Brantley and David Benton.
Funeral services were provided by Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Forest.
