Mary Ruth Simpson (White) a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully at her home in Pearl, MS on January 5, 2025 at the age of 97.
Mary was born on May 5, 1927 in Bryceland, LA. She graduated from Bryceland High School. She completed her requirements to become a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked for many years in Ruston and Arcadia, LA and retired in 1993.
Mary is survived by her children Beverly Sue Mace (Eddie) of Magnolia, Texas, Sheila Ann Bradford (Jerry) of Rosepine, LA, Sandra Gail Kinder (John) of Alexandria, LA, Kathy Denise Coker (Lu) of Brandon, MS. She was preceded in death by her father Victor Leon White and mother Sara (Sadie) Elizabeth White of Bryceland, LA, first husband and father of her children, James Harold Simpson, their daughter Judith Lynn Simpson, and second husband Bill White of DeQuincy, LA.
Mary was an avid reader, a wonderful cook known for her bread and special Maw Maw cookies, and an expert seamstress and quilt maker. She enjoyed traveling to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary’s grandchildren include Scott Mace (Heather), Cynthia Hodges (Jeff), Stephen Kinder (Rebecca), Marty Kinder (Jennifer), Kimberly Tanner ( Jason), Jason Coker (Mollie), Candace Gray (Jason). She is also survived by 21 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Mary also leaves behind her special cat Maggie who was a great comfort and loyal companion.

A memorial service will be held February 1st 2025 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will begin at 11:30 am followed by a service at 12:30.
