Mary Stroud

Mary E. Stroud, age 79, and resident of Lake passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2022, following an extended illness.

A memorial service will be held at 10am Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Salem Baptist Church located at 2380 Salem Road, Lake, MS 39092.

Mary was born to her parents, Louise Rhodes Patterson and Johnnie Patterson on July 8, 1943, in Starkville, MS.  She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.  She had worked for the Sturgis Superette as a store clerk.  She loved her family and especially her grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Wayne Patterson, a daughter, Alesia G. Channell, and a sister,  Ann Patterson.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy G. Stroud of Lake, MS.,  children; James Stanley Stroud, Melissa Dunn (Todd)  all of Sturgis, MS., and David Stroud (Mandy) of Lake, MS.. three sisters; Nancy Edwards, Linda Makamson, Debbie Johnson (George), brothers; John W. Patterson,  and Ricky Patterson.  She also leaves a legacy of 7 grandchildren.
