Beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Mary Ann Peede died April 19, 2013, at age 77. She was a resident of Brandon for more than 45 years and was known widely for her kind heart and loving spirit.
Visitation will be on Sunday, April 21 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, with funeral services to begin at 4:00 PM. Interment will be in Hartwell, Georgia, on April 23.
Mary Ann was born in Gainesville, Florida, on March 28, 1936, to James Ezra Parrish and Lavinia Parrish and was raised in Florida and Georgia. As a child, she enjoyed riding horses and spending time with her family and relatives. She graduated from Miami High School, Florida State University, and Emory University. In her early thirties, she moved to Mississippi with her husband, the late Dr. Robert Louis Peede, Sr., and subsequently worked in the medical records departments of Rankin Medical Center, River Oaks Hospital, and the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
She is survived by her four sons, Robert Louis Peede, Jr. (Paige), of Park City, Utah; Christopher James Peede, of Brandon; Jon Parrish Peede (Nancy), of Purcellville, Virginia; and Thomas Flynn Peede (Kristi), of Brandon. In addition to raising her own sons, Mary Ann looked after several of their friends and volunteered at their school constantly.
She was blessed with four grandchildren, Somerset Kea Peede, of Purcellville, Virginia; Thomas Robert Peede, of Park City, Utah; Tyler Flynn Peede, of Brandon; and Marriott Parrish Peede, of Park City, Utah.
She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Case, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with whom she shared a lifelong bond of love and friendship.
A follower of Jesus Christ, Mary Ann Peede lived a selfless life and walked in love all of her days.
