Mary Evon Stewart, 86, a resident of Eureka Community died Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the MS Care Center of Morton. Funeral services were held 2 pm Monday, January 27, 2014 at Holmes Assembly of God with burial in the Eureka Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation was held 3:30-9:00 pm Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton and 12-2 pm Monday at Holmes Assembly of God. Rev. Larry Turner and Rev. Norman Sanders officiated the services. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Stewart was a native of Leake Co. She was the daughter of John and Tressie Prestage. She was married to Milton Stewart. Mrs. Stewart worked as a seamstress for Eli and Walker. She was a member of Holmes Assembly of God. She loved fishing, gardening and watching birds. She loved her family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.

Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her parents, John and Tressie Prestage, husband, Milton Stewart and her 16 brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Stewart is survived by her children, Milton (Wanda Kay) Stewart, Jr, Jimmy (Thelma)Stewart, Howard Clark (Barbara Kaye) Stewart, Patsy Radcliffe (George Long) and Janice Stewart (Arnold Knowles); brothers and sisters, Kavanaugh (Mayola) Prestage, Louise (J.B.) Isonhood, Aiden (Lula) Prestage, Aubrey (Alice) Prestage and Linda (Lennie) Hurst; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Serving as pallbearers were Bryan Radcliffe, Taylor Radcliffe, Jerron Griffin, Clay Bates, Joshua Stewart and Arnold Knowles.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were T.J. Bates, Chris Bates, Jason Stewart, Bill Jones and George Long.
