Lorene Turnage, age 83, a resident of Pelahatchie passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at her residence. Visitation was held 2-3pm Monday, March 3, 2014 at Line Creek Baptist Church with funeral service following at 3pm with burial in Line Creek Baptist Cemetery. Rev. Tim Robertson officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mrs. Turnage was born in Rankin County in 1930. She loved working in the yard with her flowers, taking Sunday afternoon drives and raising cattle and chickens. Lorene loved her family very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Renfroe and Martha Trest Renfroe; husband, Jerry Pat Turnage; son, Jimmy Leon Turnage; brothers, Jonathan, Clarence (Buddy) Jr. and J.B. Renfroe; sisters, Bonnie Kennedy and Martha Purcell.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Windham of Pelahatchie; 2 grandchildren, David Windham (Heather) and Trish Keeton (John), 6 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
