Mary Ruth Dennis Joyner, 90, passed away Mon. Nov. 20, 2017 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be held on Sun. Nov. 26, 2017 from 2pm-4pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 10am on Mon. Nov. 27, 2017 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Brandon, MS. Graveside Services will be held at 12pm on Mon. Nov. 27, 2017 at the Mississippi State Veterans Cemetery in Newton, MS.
Mrs. Joyner was born in Lake, MS and has been a resident of Flowood, MS for 16 years. She had a 30 year career as an employee in Washington, DC working for Senator Howard Cannon and the House Committee on Aging. After her retirement from Washington, she worked at Curves Fitness of Brandon, MS. Mrs. Joyner loved working in her garden and she spent as much time there as she could everyday.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Joyner; son, Gerald Joyner; granddaughter, Kristen Joyner Dahl (Mike); great granddaughter, Brielle C. Dahl and numerous nieces and nephews.
