God called home a special precious angel on January 4, 2011. Elias Mohamed Kharbouch was born October 14, 2000 and his 10 years on this earth were marked with many events and miracles. Adorable, smart and full of fun during the first 2 years and 10 months of his life, he spread joy and love in his wake as he scooted through life. Then because of a car accident, Eli became even more influential on everyone he touched as he showed everyone around him the true meaning of strength and love. From the day of the accident that changed the lives of Eli and everyone who knew him, Eli touched people. The aura that surrounded this child was one of love.
Eli’s needs were amply met by his wonderful parents. Day by day, they nurtured and cared for this little broken baby with gratitude to God for him and an overwhelming love. Their love knows no limits when it comes to Eli. Eli was taken to Disney World in the years before the accident and it was a special place to him. Therefore, he was taken on many Disney World trips during his years after the accident. His reaction to Disney music speaks volumes about the magic of the place where miracles come true.
It is sad for us to let go of this beautiful angel, but we know in our hearts that Eli is well once again. He’s running and playing with Flops and eating grape popcicles in heaven and we know, in our hearts, that we will play and love on him again.
Eli was proceeded in death by his grandfather, Mohamed Kharbouch, his great grandmother, Josephine Jackson and his grandfather, ‘PawPaw’ Joe Hughes. He is survived by his mother, Heather Baldwin Kharbouch Higgins, his father, Aziz Kharbouch, both of Brandon; his paternal grandmother, Aicha Kharbouch of Morocco, his maternal grandparents, Bob and Jean Grobe of Brandon; his great uncle, Clint Johnson of Leland, his great aunt, Martha Boswell of Meridian, MS; his uncles, Jalil Kharbouch, Hassan Kharbouch, Hadi Kharbouch of Morocco and Robert Russell of Brandon MS; his aunts, Malika Kharbouch, Fatima Kharbouch, Mina Kharbouch, Samira Kharbouch of Morocco, Angela Neely of BrandonMS, and Heidi Noel of Clinton MS and numerous cousins.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 5, 2011 from 6 until 9 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Services will be held Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 2 p.m. with burial following at Parkway Memorial Cemetery in Ridgeland, MS.
