Matt Milling, age 30, a resident of Morton passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2016 due to injuries from an automobile accident. Visitation was held 2-9pm Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and 9am-1pm Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral services was held 2pm Sunday, February 28, 2016 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Thornhill Baptist Cemetery. Bro. Jeff Holland officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Matt was born in Hinds County on March 29, 1985. He married the love of his life, Jessica Louise Knight on August 5, 2011. Matt enjoyed watching the Colts play ball but his favorite college team was Ole Miss. Matt was known for his writing of poetry and sketching. He loved surprising his wife by leaving her poetry and drawings in different places all over the house so she could find them during the day while he was at work. Matt worked hard and provided for what meant the most to him and that was his wife and his 3 children. His kind and giving heart will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

His was preceded in death by his brother, John Claude Milling on June 15, 2014.

He is survived by his wife, Jessica Milling of Morton; 3 children, Colton David Milling, Dylon Jesse Milling and Mila Delana Milling; parents, Dewey and Wanda Haven of Pelahatchie; grandmother, Faye Milling of Pelahatchie; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mike and Carla Nutt of Morton; brother-in-law, Scott Knight of Brandon; step brother, Dewey and Christie Haven of Bay Springs; grandfather-in-law and grandmother-in-law, Benny and Vickie Warren; uncle, Benson Warren, uncle, Teddy Ray and Darlene Milling of Pelahatchie and a host of friends.

Pallbearers were Willie Haven, Dewey Haven II, Scott Knight, Dewayne Lightle, Nathan Denton, Kevin Bowman, Larry Curtis, Brian Conger. Honorary pallbearers were John Claude Milling (In Memory of his deceased brother), Pee Wee Lofton and Teddy Milling.

Memorials may be made in his name to Thornhill Baptist Cemetery Fund or to Suicide Prevention (In Memory of John Milling).
