Mrs. Maurine Wall Walters was born in Newton County, on September 5, 1936. She passed away one day after her 85th birthday under the professional care of the staff of Mississippi Care Center in Morton, where she had been a resident for three weeks.
She was a Christian by testimony of her faith, and a member of High Hill Baptist Church, in Smith County, where she attended as long as her health permitted. A homemaker, by trade, Mrs. Walters, enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing. Surmounting her longtime homemaking duties, was the enjoyment of tending to her flowers and doing yardwork. She will be remembered for the love she had for her family, in particular, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bro. John Walters.
Survivors include her three children: Lynn (David) Hanna, Michael Walters, and Mark Walters; four grandchildren: Haley (Matt) Vance and their children: Heidi and Chandler; Marley (Colt) Huggins, awaiting the arrival of baby Levi, in November; Kelsi Andris and her daughter, Millie and Jon Brett Walters.
The Walters family wishes to acknowledge with sincere appreciation the officers, directors, and staff of Mississippi Care Center of Morton for their compassionate care and professional service given to their loved one during their time of need.
