Maxine Stokley, 72, a resident of Morton died Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at MS Care Center of Morton. Visitation was held 5-9 pm Friday, October 18, 2013 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral services were held 11 am Saturday, October 19, 2013 at East Morton Baptist Church in Morton with burial in the East Morton Baptist Church Cemetery in Morton. Rev. Kenny Lang will officiate the services. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Stokley was a lifelong resident of Morton. She was the daughter of Charlie and Myrtle Amacker. She was married to Roy Stokley. She was very active in the East Morton Baptist Church in Morton where she was served the church for many years, Pianist, Sunday School Teacher. Mrs. Stokley worked as a bookkeeper for Morton Manufacturing for 24 years. Her family will remember her as a Godly and loving mother. She loved her family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Mrs. Stokley was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Stokley, her parents, Charlie M. and Myrtle Amacker and her siblings.
Mrs. Stokley is survivedby her children, Stephen (Carla) Stokley of Morton, Lisa (Billy) Russell of Morton and Betty (Paul) Martin of Wesson; brothers, Jerry (Jean) Amacker of Biloxi, MS and Quincy (Annette) Amacker of Mobile, AL; 6 grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Rex Keeton, Lindsley Keeton, Robert Marler, David Farris, Charles Keeton and Rev. Jerry Holmes.
Serving as an honorary pallbearer was Richard Keeton.
