Melanie Lea McGaugh was born at the Newton Hospital on September 14, 1969 to her parents Clyde Jerry Lyle and Gaynell Risher Countryman. She passed away at her home on Friday, October 22, 2021 at the age of 52.
Melanie’s professional career lead her to serve others in the medical profession as an administrative assistant, most recently at Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest. Remembered for her love of flowers and “digging in the dirt” as testified by her family, the geranium was favorite flower of Melanie’s, easy to grow, colorful, and emit a lovely scent. As for the favorite color of the spectrum, the color pink, was special to Melanie in that, the calming color associated with love, kindness, sensitivity and tenderness, character traits to identify the personality of daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, friend namely Melanie Lea McGaugh. A favorite pass time was painting and she always had a special bonding for animals, specifically dogs and cats. She was a Christian affiliated with the Baptist denomination by testimony of her faith.
She is preceded in death by her father: Clyde Jerry Lyle.
Survivors include her two children: Josh (Candace) McGaugh of Carthage; Erin McGaugh (Joe) Phillipson of Meridian; her mother: Mrs. Gaynell Risher Countryman of Sebastopol; two grandchildren: Kallee McGaugh and Briggs McGaugh; one brother: Michael Phillips; one special aunt: Ruth Weems; several cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
