Melinda Cooksey

Melinda Farmer Cooksey was born in Scott County on New Year’s Day, January 1, 1964 to her parents, Coyier and Dolly Vance Farmer. She passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian at the age of 53.
She was a lifelong resident of this area who enjoyed camping and fishing when her health permitted. She was a retired nurse and provided private home care to those in need in recent years. She was a member of First Baptist Church at Lake.
She is preceded in death by her son: Mitchell Cooksey; her parents: Coyier and Dolly Vance Farmer, and one brother: Paul Farmer.
Survivors include her husband of 19 years: Pat Cooksey of Lake; two children: Nathan Hollingsworth of Lake and Brittany (Alex) Thomspon and one granddaughter: Addison Brook Thompson, all of Quitman; and one brother: Michael (Kathy) Farmer of Conehatta.
She will be missed by her family and friends.
At Melinda’s request, there will be a memorial service held at a later date.
Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest assisted the family in making arrangements.
