Melonie Tomlinson

Melonie L. Tomlinson, age 60 and a resident of  Winona, formerly of Forest, died Monday, February 7, 2022, following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10am Saturday, February 19, 2022, from the chapel of the OTT & LEE Funeral Home in Forest with interment to follow in the Steele Baptist Cemetery, with Reverend Joey Smith officiating.  Visitation will be held from 5pm till 7pm Friday, February 18, 20200 at the funeral home and again Saturday morning from 8:3oam till service time.

Melonie was born in Hinds County on  February 2, 1962, to her parents Glenn W. Alford and Carlene V. Alford. She later worked for the MS. State Dept of Health and the MS National Guard as an executive secretary. She was a member of Steele Baptist Church. She loved camping, fishing, and of course being outdoors. Another favorite pastime was reading books and listening to old rock-n-roll music.  She loved life and, will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her 2 sons; Benjamin Aaron Tomlinson, and James Fabien Alford both of Pearl; a brother, Benjamin Alford also of Pearl, and a sister, Wanda Roberts (Bill) of Bentonville, AR.  She also leaves behind 3 grandchildren; Britton Alford, Amri Alford, and Lucy Alford.

Pallbearers are Benjamin Alford, Aaron Tomlinson, Britton Alford, Rodney Wilson, Kyle Holmes, and Channing McNeal.
