Melvia Riddell Sumrall

Melvia Riddell Sumrall went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 30, 2016, after a long illness.
Melvia was born July 7, 1953, and was the daughter of Sam and Betty Riddell of Jackson. She served as Court Administrator for Judge Gerald Braddock and Judge John Grant. She was a past president of the Mississippi Court Administrators Association.
She is survived by her parents, Sam and Betty Riddell; her husband, Andy Sumrall; her son, Eddie Buckner (Megan); stepchildren, Shannon Rushton (Scott) and Scott Sumrall (Judy); seven grandchildren, Addie Shaw, Ruth Anne, and Stella Buckner; Kate and Lauren Rushton; and Finley and Declan Sumrall. She is also survived by her brothers, Sam Riddell (Fran); Walter Riddell (Ann), and sister, Marie Gardner (Ben); and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon , Mississippi. Visitation will also be Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at St. Marks United Methodist Church with the service immediately following. Interment will be at Wright & Ferguson, Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, Mississippi.
