Merlyn Overby Clark, 95, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012, at her home. Visitation will begin 11:00am Wednesday, January 11, 2012 until the 1:00pm funeral service at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Interment will follow in Puckett Cemetery.

Mrs. Clark was a wonderful mother and grandmother to her family. She was born in Inverness, MS to Alex and Flower Lee Cook Overby on October 5, 1916. Merlyn retired in 1959 from the King Edward Hotel where she worked in food service. She was a very health conscious person who loved walking, running, and cooking excellent meals for friends and family.

Mrs. Clark was very proud to be part of the family farm in Puckett, MS, which was a centennial family farm. One of the longest running farms in Puckett, MS.

She was a fun loving person, elegant dresser and loved her accessories and she will be missed by her daughters, Geneva Morrow and Lynda Campbell (Dale); sister, Thelma Murray; brother, Bud Overby; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, William A. Smith in 1954 and Noel Clark; sisters, Gladys Parks, Lucille Wilson and Winnie Bottoms and her parents, Flower Lee Cook Overby and Alex Overby.
